I live in Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada (northwest of Edmonton, and on the route to Alaska via Highway 43). Whitecourt is a busy town of about 9,200 people, nestled in a forested, hilly area. The main industries are forestry (Millar Western Industries Ltd., Blue Ridge Lumber and the Alberta Newsprint Company), and oil and gas.I'll be writing mostly about nature in the area, and also about some unique features of Whitecourt and the surrounding area. You'll see pictures of local wildlife, wildflowers, trails, natural areas, gardens and attractions. You don't have to go far in Whitecourt to experience nature - Many of my posts are from my back yard. I welcome your comments on any post.
