My daughter and I were watching this deer eat rosehips and twigs while we played on her swingset just a few metres away.

A few days ago we took a drive and saw this swan just off Highway 32. I couldn't get any closer - I think it was a rare Trumpeter Swan, but it's hard to tell the difference between that and a Tundra Swan at this distance. Either way, it was beautiful to see on the shimmering water.

As I was walking down closer to see the swan, I came across several trees that beavers were working on. They sure are hard workers!

There was a path from the trees going down to the water.

They should be all set for winter.
Beautiful photos!! I have had Trumpeter Swans here on my pond. Check out my blog for the story on Sheila and Jim Lawrence from Monticello MN who brought back the species from near extinction.
