My family spent this past weekend at Faust, Alberta on Slave Lake at the Millar Western Fishing Derby. The only pictures I took were on Friday night, which was beautiful. Both the Slave Lake area and Whitecourt have had endless rain, so we were excited when we saw the sky clearing for a change. Unfortunately we awoke to more cloud and rain for the next few days.

Despite the rain for the rest of the trip, we had a good time. We managed to pull a few pike in on Saturday, and almost a walleye. We had lots of bites, and would have caught more, but my rain-drenched kids needed a break. Saturday night we had a beautiful steak dinner, followed by a later fish fry, and hot breakfast the next morning. And even with the occasional rain, we managed to keep the campfire burning.
