Carson Lake Camping - Wildlife Encounters

This young moose was eating grasses in a ditch, just off the highway near the Carson campground. I got a few pictures from my car window.

Male Mallard Duck

I love watching birds - not just glancing, but really observing what they're doing. There was a pair of Mallards on the beach, dipping their heads into shallow water by a clump of reeds. I didn't know what they were looking for, until the female brought something out of the water.

You don't have to feed the ducks - They do just fine on their own.
